Medical evaluations are performed by the healthcare provider before surgery to see if you are fit to undergo the operation. These evaluations help identify any pre-existing medical conditions that may increase the risk of complications during the surgery.
We believe that pre-operative checkups are a crucial part of the surgical process and we strongly recommend them. that our patients undergo these evaluations before their scheduled surgery.
During a pre-operative checkup appointment, patients can expect a review of their medical history, physical examination, diagnostic tests, medication review, instructions for the day of the surgery, and an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns they may have.
Bring a list of current medications, a copy of your medical history, and any diagnostic test results that you may have.
It depends on the specific instructions provided by your PCP. In some cases, yes you may need to fast for a certain period of time before your appointment.
The length of a checkup can vary depending on the complexity of the surgery and the patient’s overall health. Generally, the appointment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.
